shahi Paneer Recipe- Royal Indian cottage cheese curry

Shahi Paneer – A Royal Delight from north india. shahi paneer is a popular north indian dish that translates to “Royal Paneer”. As the name suggests, this creamy, mildly spiced curry is a luxurious treat often served during festive occasions, weddings, and special dinners. made with Indian cottage cheese(paneer), rich cream, cashews, and aromatic spices, shahi paneer has a smoth texture and mildly sweet flavor that appeals to all age groups.

Ingredients

  • 200g paneer (cubed)
  • 2tbsp oil or ghee
  • 1tbsp butter
  • 1 onion(finely chopped)
  • 2 tamatoes (pureed)
  • 10-12 cashews (cooked and blended)
  • 2tbsp fresh cream
  • 1 tsp ginger- garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp turmenic powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

INSTRUCTIONS :

1. Saute Aromatics : Heat oil and butter in a pan. Add chupped and cook until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and saute for a minute.

2. Make the Base : Add tomato puree and cook until the oil starts to separate. mix in turmeric, red chili powder, and salt.

3. Creamy Richness : Add the cashew paste and cook for 2-3 minutes. then add fresh cream and mix well.

4. Add Paneer : Gently stir in the Paneer cubes and cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat. sprinkle garam masala.

5. Garnish and Serve : Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with naan, roti, or jeera rice.

TIPS FOR PERFECT SHAHI PANEER :

  • Use fresh paneer for the best texture.
  • Adjust the spice and cream levels according to your taste.
  • For extra richness, add a spoonful of ghee before serving.
